SK9 are delighted to be working alongside a leading construction group in Ireland who are hiring for an experienced Health and Safety Officer based in/around the Limerick area. Some occasional travel should be expected to other areas across the south of the country so full clean driving license is also necessary.
This role requires thorough knowledge of safety protocols, hazard identification, and risk management and relevant qualifications for EHS.
The H&S officer will take responsibility for conducting regular site inspections, providing safety training to workers, and implementing preventative measures to reduce workplace accidents. It's imperative you have effective communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to enforce safety standards across each site.
The Health and Safety Officer will also be responsible for reporting incidents, investigating accidents, and ensuring corrective actions are taken to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legislation and industry standards.
* Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
* Leading by example and promoting behaviors that support a positive EHS culture.
* Promoting realistic and achievable EHS compliant working practices.
* Provide ongoing safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for prevention.
* Providing advice and support to operatives on site
* Maintain a detailed understanding of current EHS legal and requirements
* Investigating non-compliance activities, recording findings and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken within the agreed timescales
* Ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with EHS best practice and current EHS legal and regulatory requirements.
