About the role:
Flogas Ireland is seeking to recruit a Senior Energy Pricing Analyst. This role will be responsible for the pricing strategies for Flogas' natural gas and electricity businesses. This is a varied role to aid a busy and dynamic Department. The role will require analysis of the global energy markets and competitor offerings in all market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain pricing models and tariffs, ensuring alignment with commodity price fluctuations and market dynamics.
* Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate and implement innovative pricing strategies that align with business goals.
* Conduct in-depth margin analysis across customer sectors, identifying trends and opportunities for optimisation.
* Refine and optimise hedging strategies to manage risk and enhance profitability.
* Perform ad hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities within customer segments.
* Generate and present comprehensive reports on costs, revenue, and margins, providing actionable insights for leadership.
* Continuously improve reporting tools, methodologies, and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
* Deliver market insights and intelligence to management, sales teams, and customers, driving informed strategic initiatives.
* Monitor and review regulatory and market consultations, assessing their potential impact on pricing and business operations.
* Lead the implementation of changes required by market developments or regulatory shifts.
* Participate in and lead project work to support broader business objectives, including cross-functional initiatives and process enhancements.
* Act as a subject matter expert, guiding teams on pricing and market-related topics.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate holds a 3rd level degree in business, mathematics, engineering, or finance and has at least three years of experience in a similar role. They possess excellent IT and data management skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel, databases, SQL, and VBA. A solid understanding of energy or commodity markets is essential, along with the ability to balance commercial and financial considerations. The candidate is analytical, commercially focused, highly organized, and adaptable. They demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and take ownership of their responsibilities. With a keen eye for detail, they excel under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a flexible working attitude.
