Transport Planner
Initial 6 Month FTC (permanency afterwards)
We are hiring for a Transport Planner. This is an initial fixed term contract but the role will go permanent afterwards. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate looking to stay in the role for longer than the initial term.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Head of Transport. This role supports the GHOT in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation across all business units.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Analyzing daily completed work and timeframes
* Identifying fleet idling and downtime
* Reviewing drivers' shift times vs. hours worked
* Comparing planned vs. actual collection rates and tonnage
* Assessing planned vs. actual collections
* Analyzing current day and night routes
* Identifying efficiency improvements in routes
* Reducing the number of routes where possible
* Collaborating with the Transport Manager on peak season plans
* Managing pull-up service routes
* Recording and analyzing key performance metrics, recommending improvements
* Supporting departmental initiatives and projects
As a Transport Planner, you will work closely with the Transport Manager to maintain and provide cost-effective, efficient route and sequence plans for driver crews. You will support the Group Head of Transport in ensuring exceptional customer service by optimizing collections within agreed service level timelines. This includes reviewing previous days’ routing to identify efficiencies and potential route reductions.
Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking, reviewing, and improving key performance indicators while collaborating with all functions to drive continuous improvement across operations.
