Position Overview: Working within an industry leading organisation at Finning, and the largest CAT dealership in the UK and Ireland, your role as Workshop Engineer will be carrying out reconditioning and maintenance on Caterpillar products and supporting 2nd life overhauls to products within the Construction Equipment product group.
Job Description: We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual with a track record of strong electrical, hydraulic and engine troubleshooting skills who would be suited to a role in a large workshop environment supporting the repair and maintenance of CAT machinery.

Major Job Functions:
* Undertake a detailed inspection of the machine to confirm or expand on any initial field inspection report for commercial assessment of repair or refurbishment work.
* Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components for accurate cost evaluations or warranty agreements.
* Produce a comprehensive list of parts and materials required for proposed machine preparation work.
* Undertake overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on the machine as per the agreed work plan.
* Inspect and test completed machine to ensure it operates to expected performance levels.

Knowledge:
* Understanding of general service manuals and computerised Service Information System (SIS).
* Practical knowledge of tooling and equipment for repairs on heavy machinery.
* Knowledge of rigging, slinging and jacking procedures.
* Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge.
Accountability: Adhere to agreed job times, ensure high quality of finished machines, maintain machine availability, ensure positive customer feedback, and uphold SHEQ obligations.
Education and Experience:
* Background in plant machinery or similar industries (HGV/agriculture).
* Apprentice trained or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar industry.
* A licence to drive reach trucks is required.
* Practical experience in operating construction equipment and mechanical fitting work on large machines.
