The successful candidate will provide investment advice and consulting services to Mercer’s institutional clients. We will rely on you to:
We can offer some flexibility around an individual’s skill set but would expect reasonable coverage of the following areas:
* Managing a portfolio of defined contribution pension scheme clients on a day-to-day basis, providing proactive advice and recommendations on a range of investment-related issues and ensuring on-going compliance with regulations.
* Developing in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s best ideas, investment capabilities and solutions in order to provide best advice and communicate effectively to clients.
* Presenting at client meetings, providing an update on the performance of a client’s portfolio and providing advice on all aspects of the client’s investment arrangements including investment strategy, manager selection and portfolio construction.
* Ensuring clients are kept informed of major developments in the industry and advised on developments that may impact their investment arrangements.
* Overseeing implementation of changes to investment manager arrangements, to investment strategy or to governance arrangements.
* Liaising with colleagues across business lines to achieve successful investment outcomes for our clients.
* Maximise revenue opportunities across a portfolio of clients by expanding our solutions and services to them.
* Assist with training and development of junior colleagues.
What you will need to have:
* Client-centric approach with 5+ years’ investment experience
* Understanding of pensions, investment markets and asset classes
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with an ability to communicate across all levels and functions
* The ability to build solid working relationships with clients and colleagues
* Highly motivated and enthusiastic with proactive attitude and willingness to innovate and adopt new ideas and practices
* Project management skills; proven ability to manage simultaneous projects and to meet multiple deadlines
* Flexibility of approach and proven ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work on own initiative and to work effectively as part of a team
* Attention-to-detail is critical
