Quality Inspector - County Louth.
This is a contract role of indefinite duration.
As Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with product quality plans. The Quality Inspector ensures that high quality standards are maintained and any issues or potential issues are highlighted in a timely manner.
Shift work may be required as part of this role.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Conduct first off, in-process and final inspections in accordance with customer specifications and documented quality plans, ensuring checks are carried out accurately and recorded in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating issues to production personnel.
3. Liaise with counterparts on other shifts to ensure there is continuity.
4. Participate in the training of personnel in quality-related issues.
5. Identify non-conformances and failures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented.
7. Participate in continual improvement projects/teams.
8. Attend meetings as required.
9. Keep equipment and related areas clean and tidy - follow 5’s guidelines.
10. Any other duties as reasonably required.
Interested applicants should have:
1. At least 1-2 years' relevant industry experience in a similar role.
2. Experience working within an engineering environment.
3. Ideally a relevant diploma in Quality/Science or Engineering.
4. Competence in the use of a broad range of precision inspection instruments, including calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
5. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
6. Ability to converse in both imperial and metric measuring systems.
7. An appreciation and understanding of the importance of a robust calibration system for inspection equipment and gauges.
8. Excellent attention to detail.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
11. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software.
