Occupli are delighted to exclusively partner with an FMCG Multinational based in Cork, providing quality employment in the area for more than 4 decades. We currently have an exciting role for a Health & Safety Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure health and safety risks on site are identified, evaluated, and mitigated.
2. Manage the necessary Health & Safety documentation for external agencies, firms, Government bodies, etc.
3. Maintain relations with public organizations working in the sector and collaborate during inspections and periodic visits of working areas.
4. Define site H&S objectives and programs in accordance with Group and Regional guidelines.
5. Lead H&S incident investigations to determine root causes and define action plans.
6. Keep up to date on regulatory H&S requirements and keep the leadership team updated on compliance needs.
7. Work with site stakeholders to maintain full compliance with regulatory and group requirements.
8. Monitor and verify local adherence to work safety standards and procedures, as well as implementation of all corrective actions identified during audits, inspections, risk assessments, etc.
9. Regular reporting on H&S metrics, status, issues, non-compliances, and incidents to local and regional stakeholders.
10. Continually increase awareness and engagement of everyone on safety, promoting and developing a proactive safety culture on site.
11. Organize and conduct H&S training for on-site staff, both to ensure competency and awareness on H&S and to comply with legal requirements.
12. Contribute to the development of and ensure the implementation of local Strategic Plans (PS3) in full alignment with regional and group Strategic Plans.
13. Counsel and support local management in all H&S matters.
14. Develop and implement emergency response for the site.
Requirements
1. Degree qualified / NEBOSH or Similar.
2. Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification.
3. A minimum of 4 years’ experience at H&S Management / team lead level.
4. Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing a health and safety management system.
5. Ability to deliver training modules to all levels of the organization.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
7. Hands-on approach, highly motivated and resilient.
8. A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in supply chain/logistics/planning within a fast-paced, high-tech, and high-volume environment is essential.
9. Proven track record in managing complex projects, strategic vendor and/or business partner relationships.
10. Third level qualification in Business or related discipline with an emphasis towards Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Manufacturing.
11. Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, and inventory control policies.
12. Excellent communication and negotiation skills combined with very strong business acumen.
13. Strong problem-solving and decisive, analytical aptitude.
14. Supply Chain Systems & SAP knowledge.
15. Proficient in the use of MS Office tools, particularly Excel & PowerPoint.
16. Proficient numerical ability to record, interpret, and analyze key process data.
