Role: Mechanical Technician / Fitter
Description/Definition
Mechanical Technicians / Fitter are required to undertake all types of mechanical installations including pipe work and site fabrication across water and waste water treatment plants, commercial, industrial and domestic type installations. A strong ability to interpret technical documents and manuals.
Responsibilities/Key Duties
* To perform skilled preventative maintenance, tests and repairs in a variety of areas
* Design minor mechanical and plumbing installations
* Carry out all mechanical and plumbing installations
* Calculating material quantities and lists
* Finding and solving (troubleshooting) of mechanical and/or plumbing issues
* Reporting to Senior Mechanical Technician
* To act as a mentor for an apprentice
* Mechanical fit out of water and waste water treatments plants
* Domestic plumbing installations
* Report findings and recommendations to supervisor
* Maintaining records of all work undertaken
* To complete relevant safety documentation
About You
Requirements
* Relevant qualification – FETAC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience
* Experience in the water and waste water industry would be an advantage
* Ability to read CAD and PNID drawings
* Must be flexible in working hours
* To be able to work on own initiative and to work as part of a team
* Ability to work in confined spaces and to work at height
* Full driving licence
* Experience of welding of steel and plastic would be an advantage
