Job Overview
Provide general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within assigned buildings, aiming to promote efficiency in all aspects of the building. Uptime, labor hours, repairs, and PM completion will be tracked and evaluated against enterprise and national benchmarks.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Meet or exceed plant up-time goal of 98% by ensuring all equipment operates efficiently.
2. Maintain building call response time of 2 minutes or less, providing timely assistance to production team members.
3. Actively patrol assigned building to proactively address equipment issues, identifying potential problems before they arise.
4. Compile and distribute performance metrics such as Downtime, Response Time, and 2-Hour Tours, enabling data-driven decision making.
5. Report all major issues to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager, assisting with resolution and implementing corrective actions.
6. Establish and maintain positive working relationships between building maintenance crew and production team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
7. Manage component inventory control process for assigned building, ordering basic parts as needed to prevent stockouts and minimize downtime.
8. Enforce and audit PM completion at 100%, ensuring all scheduled maintenance tasks are performed on time.
9. Perform other duties as needed or assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges.
Qualifications
1. A High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software, utilizing tools to streamline tasks and improve productivity.
3. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all wash, dry, and finishing equipment, showcasing expertise in mechanical systems.
4. Familiarity with electrical diagnosis and troubleshooting, which is highly desirable but not essential.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills, able to motivate team members and provide clear instructions.
6. Welding, Forklift, Management certifications are a plus, indicating additional qualifications and expertise.
7. Experience in a fast-paced production environment is preferred, having worked under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Working Conditions
This is a working lead position that requires attention to detail, multitasking, and strong organizational skills. While ensuring the completion of projects such as general repairs and PM's, the Maintenance Mechanic will be assigned responsibility for completing high-priority PM's and physically repairing time-sensitive repairs.
Physical Requirements
This position may require physical demands, including lifting and moving objects heavier than 50lbs regularly. The plant environment can be warm during certain times of the year, and the ability to walk and stand for extended periods is necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
