Ad Astra Fellow - Assistant Professor in Digital Health and Health Informatics
This position seeks a health professional with expertise in digital health technologies, proficient in telemedicine, wearable devices, mobile health applications, and health informatics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and Scholarship:
o Conduct and publish high-quality research in digital health, focusing on areas such as telehealth, mobile health applications, data management, and the impact of technology on patient care and staff outcomes.
o Conduct healthcare data analysis to inform decision-making and improve care quality and patient outcome measures.
o Seek external funding through grants and partnerships to support research initiatives and contribute to the growth of the department's research portfolio.
o Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and expand national and international networks in digital and health informatics to address complex health issues and develop evidence-based practices in digital health.
* Teaching and Curriculum Development:
o Develop, deliver, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate courses in nursing and midwifery with a focus on digital health technologies, telemedicine, health informatics, and data analytics.
o Integrate innovative teaching methods, including simulation, online learning, and experiential learning opportunities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
o Support upskilling and knowledge enhancement among faculty and students in digital health and technology development and testing.
o Mentor and advise nursing and midwifery students, guiding their professional development and research projects in digital health.
o Ensure compliance with health informatics standards and regulations, including GDPR.
o Promote collaboration between human, animal, and environmental health sectors in alignment with the One Health principles.
* Service and Community Engagement:
o Participate in School, college, and university committees, contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the nursing and midwifery programmes.
o Engage with professional organizations, community stakeholders, and healthcare institutions to promote the integration of digital health in healthcare practice.
o Represent the School at national and global conferences, workshops, and public forums to share expertise in digital health and its implications for nursing midwifery and health systems.
