Senior Document Controller Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Document Controller to join our on-site team for a major data center project. This role is crucial in ensuring effective document management, compliance, and coordination across all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain a structured document control system, ensuring accuracy, version control, and accessibility of project documentation.
* Oversee the management of Requests for Information (RFIs), Technical Submittals, and Change Orders, ensuring proper logging, distribution, and tracking.
* Ensure all documentation meets project-specific, regulatory, and client requirements (BCaR, ISO, GDPR, etc.).
* Act as the central point of contact for all document-related queries between internal teams, contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
* Proficient in Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud, along with other document management systems. Manage and maintain document management systems (DMS) such as Aconex, BIM 360, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
* Conduct regular document audits, ensuring records are accurate, properly categorized, and compliant with project protocols.
* Prepare and distribute weekly status reports, logs, and dashboards to track project documentation.
* Provide training and guidance to project teams on document control procedures and best practices.
* Oversee project handover documentation, final reports, and digital archives to ensure smooth project completion and compliance with client requirements.
Specific Requirements:
* 5 years of experience in document control within large-scale construction, MEP, or data center projects.
* Strong understanding of industry standards, including BCaR, ISO 9001, and GDPR compliance.
* Proficiency in document management systems (DMS): Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Aconex, BIM 360, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
* Excellent organizational skills: Ability to manage high volumes of documentation efficiently.
* Attention to Detail: Strong ability to ensure document accuracy, version control, and compliance.
* Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to liaise with internal teams, contractors, and clients effectively.
* Knowledge of MEP and construction terminology to ensure accurate classification and filing of documents.
