The role: As the new lead on commercial activities, you will play an integral role as a member of the senior management team and contribute to the development of the overall business plan and future growth activities. You will be a commercial visionary who will help secure the future growth and continued success of the business. As commercial lead you will work closely with the managing director and senior management team to provide strong commercial advice, management, and direction. You will lead the development of commercial strategies and team of 7 sales professionals and oversee the delivery of commercial plans, formulating business strategy with senior management and turning vision into tangible commercial plans and ultimately positive results for the business. With proven ability of driving growth in commercial activities across an organisation, you will have demonstrable experience of managing and growing commercial teams. You will be results driven and have extensive experience in a commercial business environment, ideally manufacturing or construction. Responsibilities: Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives, with the aim of accelerating profitable and sustainable growth, Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.), Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are addressed and met, Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing) Collaborate with and co-ordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service, technical etc.), Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders, Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare timely reports and presentations for senior management team, Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring, In conjunction with other main board directors and senior managers, help identify the long-term strategic vision, Direct and oversee effective management by attending planned and structured departmental team/ staff briefings as head of sales, Ensure that capabilities, skills and motivation of staff are at a consistently high standard, achieving exceptional levels of performance for your department, Review the working structure within your department to ensure optimum effectiveness, Work closely with all members of sales department to ensure a joint up approach About you: 5 years experience in a senior commercial role Experience of managing a successful sales team Apt to building relationships across a business Experience of effectively using a CRM and or an ERP system Proven experience of building sales year on year Awareness of the importance of brand development Exceptional customer services skills and experience Proven abilities in budgetary control Ideally have working knowledge of IS or an understanding of it University degree (level 9 preferrable) What you'll receive: Competitive salary 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays Sick pay Paid time off for medical and dental appointments Performance bonus/Profit-Share bonus Car allowance Free on-site car parking & EV charging facility.
