Job Title: Teaching and Learning Project Lead (AI)

Job Summary:
Griffith College wishes to expand its Teaching and Learning Department (TLD) to support the detailed consideration and management of AI related developments in higher education.
The Teaching and Learning Project Lead (AI) will work directly with the TLD’s existing teams (in Lecturer Support, Digital Learning and Learning Support) and with the College’s programme teams to develop, support and coordinate the College’s implementation of AI policies.
The role is intended for educators with a keen interest in emerging educational developments related to AI, and a proven commitment to academic integrity.
The position is being offered for a 6-month period as the College adapts to the rapidly changing AI landscape in higher education, in order to provide immediate support and guidance for learners and programme teams during the remainder of the 2024/25 academic year. A review of the College’s requirements will be undertaken in advance of the 2025/26 academic year to determine the College’s future resourcing requirements in the light of developments.
The position is open to both internal and external candidates. Internal candidates may apply on a secondment basis for the six-month period.
Job Responsibilities:
The role involves the following responsibilities:
creating awareness of the evolving scope of AI developments in higher education and the related possibilities and challenges they present for academic integrity
providing guidance to lecturers and programme teams in relation to their design and assessment of learner submissions
providing guidance to learners in relation to the College’s AI related policies
working with lecturers and programme teams to inform and guide College’s response to evolving developments in AI
working with faculties / programme teams as they consider and develop discipline specific usage of AI by their stakeholders (learners and employers)
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have:
previous experience in designing, delivering and assessing learners in higher education
a proven track record of innovation in relation to their higher education role
the ability to work well with others, in a supportive, enabling and respectful manner
the ability to lead teams and working groups towards common objectives
higher education qualification(s) (most likely at NFQ level 9 or having equivalent experience)

The following additional information applies to the role:
The role is full-time (5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week)
The location of employment is Griffith College (any campus)
Remuneration will be determined in the light of the candidates’ current role, previous experience and qualifications
