Title and Summary
The Shared Components Service Delivery team is looking for a candidate who can help us solve problems, plan and design the footprint of our systems, and lead Mastercard in the definition of standards and best practices.
Infrastructure Design at Mastercard is a team of Technology Architects responsible for the analysis and design of the infrastructure framework to fit the application, platform, or system needs in line with Mastercard's operational standards and engineering principles. Our team is engaged from the beginning of the analysis and design phase to work with the application teams and other critical teams within Mastercard to ensure the completed infrastructure and application architecture align with Mastercard’s security, scalability, reliability, and availability standards.
Major Accountabilities for this role:
1. Responsible for gathering requirements, conducting infrastructural analysis, and producing robust designs that adhere to approved Mastercard technologies, ensuring the design meets all Mastercard's technology and security policies.
2. Responsible for meeting with peers, engineers, application team(s), and user(s), to determine that all the high-level requirements have been met.
3. Responsible for generating products such as Technical Architecture Documents, technical memos, logical flows, and models to keep the users, architects, and the engineers constantly up to date and in agreement on the architecture and infrastructure layout of an application, system, or platform.
4. Responsible for ensuring that all architectural products and products with architectural input are maintained in the most current state and never allowed to become obsolete.
5. Responsible for implementing, managing, and supporting application infrastructure components while leveraging current standards and best practices.
6. In charge of resolving internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability and performance globally.
7. Leads and collaborates to achieve the definition of new standards.
8. Responsible for researching and evaluating new technology for possible deployment in Mastercard’s internet infrastructure.
9. May assume lead and total accountability for ongoing regional projects as assigned; including responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.
10. May contribute to incident/problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.
11. May provide input into performance tuning; capacity planning and configuration management for Mastercard components.

Education (preferred):
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
All About You:
1. Advanced knowledge of Web application architecture and project delivery.
2. Advanced knowledge of how the Java Virtual Machine works, how Garbage collection works.
3. Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
4. Advanced knowledge of network and operating system principles.
5. Vast knowledge of middleware technologies (Web Servers, Application Servers, Queue Managers, Messaging, Caching).
6. Working knowledge of Database technologies.
7. Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
8. Solid knowledge of techniques or methodologies to achieve non-functional requirements like reliability, availability, resilience, performance, security.
9. Working knowledge of Role Based Access Control, Authentication, and Authorization mechanisms.
10. Proficient in root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
