Details of Service: Cheeverstown provides Supported Living, Respite, New Directions, and employment supports to adults with intellectual disabilities. Cheeverstown is a section 38-funded organisation.
Cheeverstown clinic is a multidisciplinary team of health and social care professionals working in social work, music therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, psychology, speech and language therapy and administration. We support people with their physical health, psychological health, and social support needs. We offer a primary care type service for adults with intellectual disabilities who use Cheeverstown New Directions and supported living services.
Purpose of the Role: The purpose of the role is to support the provision of a high-quality, person-centred physiotherapy service to adults supported by Cheeverstown.
Responsibilities:
1. The physiotherapy caseload consists of neurological, musculoskeletal, and orthopaedic conditions, as well as 24-hour postural management and orthotic clinics for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
2. The senior physiotherapist supports hydrotherapy programmes and holds a key role in Cheeverstown's falls management programme.
3. The senior physiotherapist supports and trains staff within both the MDT and the wider Cheeverstown staff team.
In order to maintain the highest possible standards of care, Cheeverstown requires staff to be flexible in their duties and/or working hours.
Contract Type: Fulltime, 35 hours, Monday-Friday. Permanent contract.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Possess a diploma or degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised third level institution.
2. Be registered as a Physiotherapist with CORU and maintain CORU registration.
3. Have at least 3 years satisfactory post qualification experience, with experience in the disability sector an advantage.
4. Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills together with up-to-date knowledge of current thinking and practice in services for people with intellectual disabilities.
5. Be highly motivated, flexible and committed to working as part of a team.
6. Have a full driver's licence and own vehicle.
