As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for leading security diligence for acquisitions, designing and guiding post-close acquisition security roadmaps, and enabling existing Amazon subsidiaries to seamlessly secure their environments through the delivery of innovative security solutions and acting as a Trusted Advisor across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with an ability to lead by influence and communicate clearly.
Technically, this person will be a security generalist with one or more areas of deep expertise.
In their communication, they will clearly articulate risks to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
Inter-personally, successful candidates will effectively harmonize disparate opinions while effectively prioritizing risks to guide their partners towards secure solutions.
Key job responsibilities As a Security Engineer, you'll help to build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazon's infrastructure.
You'll work with data scientists, software development engineers, and other security engineers across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions.
Our services protect the infrastructure for all customers and preserves our customers' trust in us.
You'll get to use the full power and breadth of Amazon built security technologies to build services that proactively protect customers, both internally and externally, from security threats.
Communicate effectively with management and engineering, building trust across the organization, and demonstrating discretion with sensitive information.
Identify continuous process improvements at unprecedented scale.
Support scalable security solutions across our diverse subsidiary networks.
Strong desire to up-skill and self-develop to learn at Amazon scale.
Support threat modeling and turn that into actionable plans to reduce risk.
Support pre-acquisition security due diligence interviews and create security findings and recommendations reports.
Support creation of post-close secure integration roadmaps for new acquisitions, act as a Trusted Advisor to new and existing subsidiaries.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of system, network and OS.
Understanding of security threats, hands-on experience detecting and defending from cyber attacks, and experience using big data analytics and orchestration to address security challenges.
Ability to develop code with at least one modern language such as Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust and security code review.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS You demonstrate excellent judgement in assessing and prioritizing technical risk.
You have a strong application security background with a focus on scalable solutions.
You have experience building and securing complex architecture.
You work to identify and remove bottlenecks for your teammates, both in process and technology.
Hold professional security certification such as CISSP, CRISC.
