Key Responsibilities as Contracts Manager
* Positively and actively drive towards an embedded HS&E culture, creating a continually progressive environment focused on safety.
* Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
* Lead all aspects of Project Team functions (PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management & Project Close Out).
* Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
* Prepare contract reports and provide updates to monthly cost meetings with the QS.
* Review buildability and identify methods of construction with commercial or programme advantages where possible.
* Plan, organize, and direct activities concerning the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
* Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Coordinate project activities in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
* Manage the complete day-to-day life cycle of the project from initial stages through to hand-over.
* Meet agreed objectives in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
* Achieve a 'right first time' philosophy throughout the project life cycle.
* Be responsible for the successful delivery of projects through leadership, management, technical & engineering expertise throughout the project life cycle. Manage the day-to-day site operations of subcontractors on site.
* Manage the workflow of subcontractors ensuring they are in line with the program of works on site.
* Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, keeping them informed of progress.
* Oversee quality management and BCAR coordination, ensuring that quality control and safety regulations are adhered to on site.
* Handle technical queries when necessary and interface with the client, consultant, and architect regarding RFIs.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Degree in Engineering discipline: Civil, Structural, or Construction Management.
* Experience – ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
* Computer literate and familiar with MS Office, Project, or similar scheduling packages.
* Good knowledge of safety management and quality management.
* Ability to lead with confidence, mentor, and motivate staff under them.
