We've been operating in Ireland since 1964, with over 650 employees working across various activities and business units. Our External Manufacturing site in Dublin serves as the global headquarters for contract manufacturing operations (CMO) and ensures reliable supply of products to patients worldwide. This includes managing third-party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites, with two sites in Ireland: Global Headquarters in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.
The Role
We're seeking a Contract Manager, Supply Chain Planner to join our BMS External Manufacturing team on a fixed-term basis. As an ExM Supply Chain Planner Manager, you'll be responsible for proactive supply planning, ensuring customer requirements are understood, planned for, and delivered. You'll own all aspects of planning for relevant products within your portfolio and ensure demand and supply requirements are accurate and balanced.
* Prepare and maintain stock overviews for the relevant products, including supply and demand requirements and levels of expected inventory on hand.
* Work with Global Supply Chain Inventory Optimisation team to set targets for relevant RSMs, intermediates, and APIs as appropriate.
* Investigate SAP/Rapid Response demand and engage with customers and Global Supply Chain to understand drivers behind demand changes and align on demand requirements.
* Ensure SAP demand is aligned with actual requirements and engage with internal & external customers and Global Supply Chain as required to resolve discrepancies.
* Review forecast changes on a monthly basis and prepare updated forecasts for communication to CMO.
* Own and maintain accurate planning master data for all products within area of responsibility.
* Plan and effectively manage supply impact of any change involving regulatory impact.
* Work with BMS Global Supply Chain Product Planner or SCPL to ensure product strategy is understood, adhered to, and implemented.
* Liaise with customers and coordinate supply planning with Supply Chain VPT representative to minimise supply delays, quality events, line shut downs, projects etc on supply to customers.
* Place and maintain purchase orders in SAP.
* Provide input into metrics discussions and participate in metrics review meetings as required.
* Communicate product-related inventory risk to ExM inventory control and finance teams in a timely manner.
* Maintain/develop strong relationships with supply chain counterparts at other BMS sites, Global Supply Chain, and CMOs.
* Participate in BMS Global Supply Chain meetings as required to ensure alignment on implementation of product strategy.
* Lead supply chain meetings with customers to ensure alignment on BMS customer requirements and consumption plan.
* Responsible for compilation of volume information to support budget and projection activities & providing rational in relation to the drivers behind variances.
* To provide supply chain planning input to the SSC allocation process.
* Proactively identify and resolve any constraints in supply through engagement with CMOs and VPT team as necessary.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
* Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP and SAP BW reporting, and related data analysis tools.
* Knowledge and understanding of planning master data.
* Understanding of BMS Supply Chain, products, and markets.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Understanding of Contract Manufacturing Supply Chain Operations.
* Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
* An understanding of regulatory requirements and management of regulatory constraints.
* APICS or related qualification.
* 5 years + Supply Chain experience in global manufacturing and supply environment.
* Understanding of Supply Chain and Regulatory operations in a cGMP environment.
* Rapid Response planning system experience beneficial.
* Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry.
