About the role
ORS is one of the leading building consultancies in Ireland. Our team consists of experienced and dynamic professionals dedicated to delivering projects in line with our client’s requirements. We currently require a Senior Engineer to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of projects for our clients, including feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.
About you
The role is ideal for professionals with a strong technical design background looking for the next step in their career. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and will have the skills necessary to determine and define each project’s scope of work and deliverables. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for managing design teams, preparing tenders, supervising tendering procedures, preparing proposals, and managing, supervising, and visiting contractors on-site. You will also have demonstrable experience in thinking creatively and logically to resolve design issues.
Skills and experience
1. Level 8 qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
2. 7-10 years of experience in engineering in construction, preferably consultancy
3. Demonstrated knowledge of construction & engineering principles
4. Chartership preferred but not essential
5. Experience leading the design and delivery of Civil & Infrastructure engineering projects
6. Excellent technical design skills and knowledge of relevant codes and standards
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
9. Willingness to travel to project sites as required
