Our client, a Public Sector body based in South Dublin, are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team on a contract basis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities The following are the key duties and responsibilities the appointee will be required to provide.
Leadership and Direction: Provide support and guidance to the Head of Service/General Manager to enable the management of reconfiguration and migration of service organisation and delivery Participate as a member of the Management team, as appropriate Support leadership in the delivery and governance of integrated service provision, ensuring safety and quality of service and value for money Assist and support the Head of Service/General Manager in ensuring the application of appropriate systems of quality, safety, compliance, and risk management Contribute to and assure implementation of the Operational Plan, Corporate Strategy, Estimates Process, and Annual Service Plan Operational Excellence Managing and Delivering Results: Support the Head of Service/General Manager and be responsible and accountable for the delivery of all services within the assigned service area in line with nationally defined frameworks, standards, policies, and resources Responsible for delivery of key targets by ensuring a strong control system is put in place Manage the performance of key personnel within the service area through the use of appropriate measurement, benchmark, and metrics, and ensuring appropriate records are maintained Accountable for the budget as assigned for health and personal social services and ensure that these services operate within nationally and locally prescribed parameters at all times, demonstrating value for money Oversee compliance with provisions of the FOI Acts 1997, 2003 & 2014 Ensure the organisation is meeting obligations of Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018 Ensure compliance with GDPR legislation Data Protection Policy and Guidelines Prepare and manage annual budgets for assigned area and identifying, proposing, and implementing value improvement and efficiency initiatives Monitor expenditure on an on-going basis in consultation with Finance Manager/Head of Finance Take corrective action where appropriate in consultation with Finance Manager/Head of Finance/Head of Service or nominee Ensure adherence to the national financial regulations and controls and maintain appropriate records Approve and authorize purchase and payment of goods Building and Maintaining Relationships - Communication: Ensure and demonstrate that all Corporate policies, procedures, standards etc.
are implemented at local service area level as prescribed by the regional support/corporate functions (i.e.
National Directors Quality & Clinical Care, Planning & Performance, Communications, Finance, HR, ICT, Estates, Procurement, and other functions) Liaise with HR specialists regarding issues arising at organisational level which may concern trade union officer and shop stewards In conjunction with heads of departments ensure absenteeism and time keeping are actively managed Engage with HR specialists/Recruitment Managers regarding recruitment of staff and participate on interview boards and attend meetings as required Build capacity and effective working relationships and business processes across the CHO in relation to service planning and performance reporting and monitoring Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon, and efficient health service Suitable candidates will be Qualified Accountants with operations experience within a large business.
