Job Description:As the Container COE Squad Leader, you blend application development and deep cloud expertise with a passion for delivering results. As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on specific product features that help application teams across Fidelity utilize our cloud ecosystem to its fullest capability.You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to motivate and build team and partner support and alignmentAnticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the teamDefining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteriaInspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impedimentsMeasuring performance against established objectives and KPI’s that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people resultsCollaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development and learningMaking informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelinesEngaging with Fidelity and cloud service provider product teams to simplify Container Management usage and build patterns to accelerate feature delivery across the firmThe Expertise and Skills You BringBachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required8-12+ years work experience in several of the following technologies including Kubernetes, CNCF technology, programming languages (Go, Lua, Rust, Java), frameworks and container toolingPractical experience in building cloud hosted and native applications for the enterprise.Maintains a deep understanding of a wide variety of cloud technology to provide recommendations and advice to Fidelity application teamsFacilitate feature requests and intake by working with stakeholders for the suite of products within the container product areaExperience designing, developing and maintaining dynamic products and solutionsFinancial services experience, preferredAgile, Jira, and Jira Align experience preferredYou take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value deliveredYou grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate theseYou have a strong focus on execution and identify, communicate and remove impediments to progressYou are capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teamsYou establish and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work collaboratively across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approachYou are intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring and coachingYou have or are committed to developing a balance of technology and non-technology skills to fully appreciate the broad needs of our customersThe Team You work in partnership with the Platform as Service Product Area Leader, other Squad Leaders, and Chapter Leaders aligned to your squad.
