BIM Manager
John Sisk & Son are delighted to be working on a cutting-edge development where, as an experienced BIM Manager, you will oversee the implementation of our Digital Project Delivery strategy across the projects within the Business Unit. This role will provide support and leadership to implement, develop, and manage a successful DPD strategy from pre-contract through to project delivery and handover.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Dublin area and you will be in a site-based role, where you will be a key part of our site team operations in the successful delivery and handover of our projects. BIM Documentation experience is crucial for this role.
Tender stage
* Support the Precon team with the review of received tender documents (including Works Information, EIR, etc.) to identify Clients BIM and Digital requirements.
* Attend Tender kick-off meeting to discuss the DPD scenarios and proposed DPD strategy.
* Support the Precon team with the development of Precontract BEP in line with ISO19650.
* Ensure potential consultants and specialist designers are fully aware of their DPD responsibilities.
* Ensure Supply Chain Digital Capabilities (SCDC) are populated and scored.
* Provide technical review of 3D BIM models received at tender stage for federation, engineering checks, clash detection, logistics and cost management.
* Support the bidding team with any BIM or digital enquiries to be included in the quality submission.
* Ensure consultants and specialist designers fees for DPD are included in the Prelims.
Mobilisation Stage (Upon project award)
* Ensure the agreed DPD strategy is fully handed over to project team at tender handover meeting.
* Support the production and delivery of project BEP, MIDP, MPDT (in line with ISO19650) and ensure internal project team and external parties are fully aware of their responsibilities.
* Ensure BEP, CDE protocol and Design Responsibility Matrix are included in consultants and specialist designers’ contracts and their fees for DPD are included in the Prelims.
* Ensure SCDC assessments are deployed and scored for all consultants and specialist designers.
Project delivery stage
* Lead the BIM kick-off meeting with consultants and specialist designers.
* Lead the DPD kick-off meeting (with support of Information Systems Manager) with the senior project management team to review and finalise the DPD strategy.
* Set up BIMCollab and ensure right protocols are in place for managing and coordinating the clashes and design issues in the platform and throughout the design team meetings (DTMs).
* Support the Project Team in implementing the agreed DPD strategy.
* Regularly monitor the implementation of the project DPD strategy and identify any gaps.
* Explore the market and identify cutting-edge and innovative technologies.
* Provide upskilling and hands-on training sessions for project teams.
* Support BIM Lead with DPD audits and implementation of new technologies.
* Support the development of the 4D BIM for planning when required.
* Capture best practices and lessons learnt to be shared with the wider business and other projects.
Qualification and Experiences
* 5+ years’ experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects with BIM level 2 standards.
* Fully competent in ISO19650.
* Degree qualified in construction, computing or related discipline.
* Comprehensive knowledge in Autodesk Revit for developing, editing and publishing 3D BIM models.
* Comprehensive knowledge in Autodesk Navisworks for production of NWD files for navigation, clash detection and data validation of PIM.
* Comprehensive knowledge of BIMCollab.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Synchro.
* Essential knowledge of Information Management.
* Knowledge of working in a CDE such as Viewpoint For Projects (VFP), Autodesk 360.
