You will be responsible for shaping the engineering strategy, delivering high-quality SaaS products, and building a world-class team to support our next stage of growth. You’ll operate at both strategic and execution levels—ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and business goals.
This is an important leadership role, with a focus on scaling teams, driving innovation, and delivering business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You will drive innovation in product development and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-impact SaaS solutions for our enterprise customers. Operating at both strategic and execution levels, you will champion a forward-thinking approach that supports SoftCo’s overall strategy.
You will also play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation, ownership and continuous improvement. Working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Customer-facing teams, you’ll ensure engineering efforts are tightly aligned with the evolving needs of our customers.
Your responsibilities:
* Lead and Scale a High-Performing Engineering Organisation: Grow and manage a distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build the structures, processes, and leadership bench required to support rapid growth and global scale.
* Deliver Secure, Scalable SaaS Products: Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, secure, and performant software. Guide architectural direction and embed engineering excellence across teams.
* Drive Cross-Functional Alignment and Execution: Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and Operations to align on priorities, accelerate delivery, and ensure customer-centric outcomes.
* Own Engineering Strategy and Technical Vision: Define the long-term technology roadmap, including ERP and third-party integrations. Lead adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and processes that improve agility and maintainability.
* Ensure Operational and Regulatory Excellence: Champion DevOps, automation, and quality practices. Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards such as GDPR, NIS2, DORA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
* Manage Budgets and Invest in Talent: Own engineering resourcing and budget planning. Attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent. Drive succession planning and career development across the organisation.
Your profile:
* A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree such as a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline is an advantage.
* Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within a SaaS or technology-led environment.
* Strong track record in building and scaling software teams and delivering high-quality cloud-based products.
* Deep technical expertise in modern software development practices, including Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native architecture (e.g. microservices, containers), automated testing, and scalable SaaS design on platforms such as AWS.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and aligning engineering with product and business outcomes.
* Strong people leadership capabilities, with a passion for team development, coaching, and creating a thriving engineering culture.
* Strategic mindset with excellent communication skills, capable of operating confidently at both executive and team levels.
* Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts and decisions clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership, customers, and partners.
