Senior Occupational Hospital
My client, an acute hospital based in West Dublin, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic therapy team. This role involves leading and delivering high-quality occupational therapy interventions, with opportunities to supervise junior staff, contribute to service development, and engage in clinical leadership within a hospital-based multidisciplinary setting.
Responsibilities of Senior Occupational Therapist
* Deliver advanced-level occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients across medical, surgical, rehabilitation, or specialised services, depending on departmental needs.
* Take clinical responsibility for a defined caseload, managing complex presentations with autonomy.
* Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to basic grade Occupational Therapists and students.
* Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of occupational therapy services in line with best practices and national standards.
* Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Participate in audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and contribute to service data collection/reporting.
* Uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, infection control, and patient safety.
Requirements of Senior Occupational Therapist
* A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with CORU.
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in managing a complex caseload.
* Proven leadership, supervision, and team-working abilities.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in service development or audit processes.
