Viking Hotel is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team. This person will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area along with assisting the chefs on a day-to-day basis.
About The Role
1. To be ready to commence work, on time and in full uniform, freshly groomed in accordance with kitchen regulations and company standards.
2. To wash all crockery, cutlery, and kitchen items in a timely manner and to the standard required.
3. To return all clean items to the location where they are stored.
4. To ensure that the kitchen environment, including floor area, is kept clean and ensure that the risk of slips, trips, or falls is kept to a minimum.
5. To minimise wastage at all times.
6. To adhere to all hygiene regulations regarding uniform, personal hygiene, and operational hygiene.
7. To carry out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning schedule and complete daily/weekly checklists for cleaning tasks performed.
8. To wear protective clothing as specified.
9. To report any faults in equipment, fixtures, and fittings or items considered unsafe to the senior chef on duty.
10. To operate all machinery and electrical equipment as directed, and not to misuse in any way.
11. To maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues.
12. To ensure full adherence to hygiene and safety in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and the hotel Health and Safety Policy.
13. All employees, regardless of position, are expected to carry out any additional reasonable tasks requested by management.
