An academic organisation is looking for a Contracts Manager that has strong Intellectual Property experience to join their Dublin based research centre.
Our client is seeking to recruit an IP and Contracts Manager to join their project based research centre. This role will involve working closely with third-level educational institutes and leading their IP management activities.
This position is a 3 year fixed-term contract and is ideally suited to someone coming from an academic or IP background that enjoys working with contracts and licensing agreements. There is excellent flexibility with this role which allows you to choose your own hours for the most part. The salary is in line with current Government pay policy.
Responsibilities:
1. Negotiate and review industry contracts, licensing agreements and IP terms
2. Identify and execute IP collaboration frameworks including issues related to IP and GDPR
3. Implement, evaluate and review IP objectives
4. Schedule visits with clients across the country and create IP reports on findings
5. Present findings to boards
What you need:
6. A third level degree ideally in law or business
7. Ideally have strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
8. Be coming from an academic or industry environment in business development or an intellectual property management role
9. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
10. A good understanding of contracts and research licences with relevant practical commercial experience
11. An understanding of the IP issues arising in the context of academic research
12. Have a willingness to innovate and implement change
