Realtime Recruitment is seeking a Head of IT for a permanent North Dublin based position.
As the Head of IT, you will lead the IT function, ensuring the effective delivery of technology services across the organization while aligning IT strategy with overall business objectives. You will be responsible for driving technical innovation, managing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, and overseeing IT operations in collaboration with the wider Group IT function.
This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on expertise in SD-WAN, Active Directory, and Azure, and the ability to focus on long-term strategy while ensuring day-to-day operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with business objectives and Group IT directives.
2. Lead the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
3. Collaborate with Group IT to ensure alignment on shared initiatives and technology standards.
4. Oversee the management and optimization of core systems, including Active Directory, SD-WAN, and Azure environments.
5. Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of IT infrastructure.
6. Lead the adoption of innovative technologies to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.
7. Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks and ensure minimal downtime.
8. Implement processes and technologies to safeguard data and maintain business operations during disruptions.
9. Manage, mentor, and inspire the IT team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
10. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the department.
11. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring optimal delivery of IT services.
12. Oversee IT budgets and ensure cost-effective investment in technology resources.
13. Act as the key liaison between IT and other business functions to understand and support their technology needs.
14. Report to senior management on IT performance, strategic initiatives, and risk mitigation efforts.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, ideally within a larger Group IT function.
2. Strong technical background with hands-on expertise in:
1. SD-WAN implementation and management.
2. Active Directory administration.
3. Azure cloud solutions and services.
3. Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning and business continuity management.
4. Solid understanding of IT strategy development and execution in a complex organizational environment.
5. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
6. Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and large-scale IT projects.
7. Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
8. Relevant certifications such as ITIL are a plus.
