Job Title: Maintenance Manager Location:Co. Waterford Department: Engineering / Maintenance Reports To: Site Operations Manager Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and support the engineering function onsite.
This key leadership role is responsible for driving performance across planned and preventative maintenance, optimizing reaction time to breakdowns, managing engineering costs, and deploying resources effectively to ensure maximum plant reliability and efficiency.
Contact Mark for more information: Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Cascade and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives from Group and site level to the Maintenance team.
Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and control departmental costs in line with agreed budgets and obtain authorization for expenditures per Group policy.
Team Management: Lead, coach, and support the engineering team in daily operations, including time-critical repairs, performance management, and skills development.
Operational Planning: Manage daily maintenance activities, set priorities for repairs and projects, and schedule resources to minimize production downtime.
Reactive & Planned Maintenance: Ensure robust planning for scheduled work while maintaining flexibility to respond effectively to unforeseen issues.
Contractor Management: Oversee third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with site and Group standards.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce unscheduled breakdowns.
Resource Development: Promote training, development, and effective deployment of maintenance personnel to support individual and team growth.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Site Utilities Management to ensure optimized performance across utilities (electricity, water, air, refrigeration, etc.).
Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
Proven track record in managing teams, budgets, and external contractors.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Familiarity with health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
