Role Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for all activities related to production planning, demand and capacity management, plan governance, system parameterization, and inventory control. The role collaborates with the Production Scheduling Team and other stakeholders to ensure a feasible and balanced supply plan in accordance with agreed service levels, safety stock, raw material and supply plans, capacity plans, and identified constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Production Planning:
o Responsible for 1-36 month horizon
o Review alerts, identify proposed changes, prioritize orders, and work with the scheduling team
o Attend Material Supply Tier 1 meeting, share urgent issues, and escalate into Tier 2 boards
o Actively participate in Cross Site network calls, flag demand signal issues, identify network material supply issues, and propose plan changes
o Handover orders to the scheduling team ensuring network material availability
* Demand/Capacity Management:
o Support monthly demand changes analysis, flag substantial changes in demand, and analyze results with the planning team lead
o Liaise with upstream/downstream supplying sites to interrogate and validate demand changes, identify root causes, and ensure system requirements are up to date
o Model system demand gaps caused by source change
o Work with network stakeholders to resolve demand signal issues
o Support scenarios planning analysis and manage resource capacity in the system to ensure a feasible plan and correct demand signal upstream
* Plan Governance:
o Support allocation plan with BSL guidance and handover to Scheduling (in constrained supply scenarios)
o Participate in weekly supply governance calls to troubleshoot low stock issues and balance cost vs. supply trade-offs
o Track root causes and prioritize remediation and prevention actions
* Parameters and Metrics:
o Review and update system supply chain Master Data
o Monitor Key Planning Metrics (such as Market coverage) and take actions to improve them
* Inventory Control:
o Ensure inventory usage of network materials and avoid obsolescence by checking their aging
o Track, review, and communicate network material I inventory vs. target MoH
o Monitor network material shelf life and ensure adherence to RIDS avoidance processes
Qualifications:
* BS/BA in Technical or Business field required (supply chain management, systems or industrial engineering), advanced degree a plus
* Experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in Pharmaceutical Industry or equivalent, proven experience in supply and inventory planning and operational execution
* Understanding of logistics and supply chain environment, process development, and ERP/advanced planning systems (e.g., APO, ECC, BI) and best practices
* Demonstrated analytical, strategic thinking/planning, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in an environment of competing priorities with concurrent deadlines
* Ability to work in a complex matrix organization with strong teamwork orientation
