Overview of the role:
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for technical maintenance of the Electrical equipment in the FM contract and projects at the client's site. Developing client relationships and working with a high-performance team delivering world-class facility services. The role requires a skilled senior person with pharmaceutical engineering experience, compliance, and safety focused.
Day to Day of the Role:
1. Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Contract Manager and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.
2. Troubleshoot MCC 240V and 400 V problems with electrical control and utilities equipment as necessary, and as directed by site supervisors.
3. Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate.
4. Liaise with sub-contractors during planned service maintenance.
5. Participate in the appropriate training.
6. Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task List steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
7. Update maintenance task lists as appropriate.
8. Carry out Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.
9. All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
10. Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings.
11. Flexibility to work around Maintenance Shutdowns.
12. Be familiar with all GMP rules and regulations.
13. Be familiar with Statutory requirements.
14. Be responsible for personal training curricula and ensure missing requirements are completed.
15. Participate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions.
16. Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good condition.
17. Drive local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results, areas that will be reviewed and improvements sought:
18. - Spares cost.
19. - PM:CM ratio.
20. - Maintenance man-hours per equipment/system.
21. - Equipment reliability trends.
22. PM program content is to be reviewed on a regular basis to remove non-value-added activities and duplication.
23. Ensure that the CMMS system contains the most up-to-date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours.
24. Maximise maintenance wrench time utilisation through effective planning.
Required Skills for the Role:
1. Electrical experience, 10 years minimum and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems.
2. Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems; general canteen/kitchen equipment.
3. Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
4. Work within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
5. Work within a documented Permit to Work System.
6. Ability to read and understand P&ID’s/electrical drawings.
7. Understanding of SOP’s and GMP Engineering systems.
8. Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.
9. Must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with detailed knowledge/skill in the following areas:
10. Troubleshooting/repair of electrical systems, related mechanical experience a distinct advantage.
11. Team Player.
12. Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
13. Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
14. Good Initiative and Pro-active attitude in approach to duties.
15. Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical engineering.
16. Pharmaceutical experience within a regulated environment.
17. Maintenance and troubleshooting experience of industrial utilities.
18. Self-motivation, ability to work alone and as part of a team.
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate to all levels of organisation in a clear, concise and respectful manner.
