Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client, a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland, provides services for people who are homeless and at risk of homelessness in Ireland.
The purpose of this project is to provide short-term accommodation to Ukrainian young people, aged 15-17, who have been displaced from their homes.
What you will do:
* Work within the framework of the overall objective of the organisation and the values of the agency.
* Work as part of a team within the framework of the policies and procedures in place for the project or as directed by the project manager, deputy manager or head of department.
* Act as a key worker for individual young people and work in partnership with agencies external to the organisation in relation to young people referred to the service.
* Participate in drawing up individualised programmes exploring clients' experiences of homelessness and support clients to break this cycle, preparing clients for their move-on to an identified placement or to independent living.
* Support young people accommodated that have experienced trauma.
* Support young people accommodated that present with challenging behaviour.
* Advocate on a young person’s behalf for housing, social work, social welfare, education, training, and legal rights.
* Support young people accommodated in the service in conjunction with their statutory care plan and work with the young person to develop and maintain an individual placement plan.
* Refer and support young people to external agencies that may further assist them with their personal, social, educational, employment, legal, and accommodation needs.
* Record and maintain records in relation to the project and individual clients in accordance with statutory requirements and health and safety legislation.
* Attend and participate in team, review, and agency meetings as required.
* Assist in the implementation of the settlement policies and strategies of the organisation.
* Work in close liaison with and cooperate with other projects.
* Prepare and engage in supervision sessions on a regular basis with the Manager/ Deputy.
* Undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned to you from time to time in consultation with the Manager.
* Observe all Health, Safety and Welfare at Work regulations and notify management of any risks or concerns you may have in relation to same.
* Agree to take part in a 7-day, 24-hour roster.
What you will need:
* A Third level Degree in Social Care.
* Proven direct work experience in a social care setting at a project worker level or equivalent.
* Experience of supporting marginalized clients/groups preferably adolescents.
* A working knowledge and insight into the social issues that affect young people, particularly those who have or are experiencing homelessness.
* Ability to manage and support clients in crisis who present with challenging behaviours based on the values and principles of best practice.
* Working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection.
* Experience of key working, assessments, and care planning.
* Excellent report writing and IT skills.
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* Reliability and flexibility.
* A working knowledge and understanding of the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model (desirable).
* A working knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres (desirable).
