Huawei’s products and services are available in more than 170 countries and are used by a third of the world’s population. Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) is one of Huawei’s three business units and covers smartphones, PC and tablets, wearables and cloud services, etc.
Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) is part of CBG and it develops new cloud services that are offered free of charge to Huawei mobile device users.
HMS ecosystem is now the third largest ecosystem in the world. As of September 2020, 96,000 global apps have integrated with HMS Core. HMS Apps continues to launch globally, with content apps such as HUAWEI Music, HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Themes, HUAWEI Reader and HUAWEI Game Center taking center stage in various countries and regions.
About the IRC
Huawei Ireland Research Centre (IRC) mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. To achieve this we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The IRC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.
Responsibilities:
* In charge of the whole procurement process for category-based supplier selection (mainly responsible for General procurement, Admin procurement and Production procurement), lead the bidding, negotiation and price comparison strategies;
* Manage and coach the procurement team to understand the core value of procurement, cost effective negotiation skills and the risks of procurement contract clauses;
* Negotiate prices with vendors to obtain the best price for products or services;
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure all purchases meet the company’s needs;
* Determine which vendors are most qualified to meet the company’s needs for products or services;
* Provide management reports and key performance data and monitor cost savings on a monthly basis;
* Coordinate with the legal department to draft contracts with suppliers;
* Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications;
* Report on achievement of targets, new work plans and identify any potential risks for the company on a regular basis;
* Answer all invoices and payment inquiries from suppliers, also monitor the payment progress.
Requirements:
* Bachelor degree in supply chain management, business management or related field. Higher qualification is a plus;
* 5 to 10 years’ experience. At least 2-3 years purchasing experience in telecommunication company or other global company;
* Good English speaking, reading, and writing skills, and Mandarin is a plus;
* Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown;
* Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
* Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment;
* Proficiency in MS Office Suites including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
* Strong work ethic and desire to achieve excellence;
* Work from Office (Dublin) 5 days per week.
