About the Role:
The UHC Payment Team is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for the development, execution, and valuation of initiatives focused on driving measurable and meaningful improvement in both quality and affordability of care. This role involves partnering with executive-level business champions to identify, evaluate, and deploy projects at a national level spanning multiple business segments, UHC, and Optum departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Lead or help develop project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders, for the delivery of key strategic and affordability initiatives.
* Drive strategic initiatives across various functions within the business from inception through post-deployment monitoring.
* Develop and maintain project plans, tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and resource requirements.
* Lead coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas.
* Provide regular project updates that cover program implementation plans/project risk/issue management plans and strategies.
* Establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards, and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input.
* Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
* Monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of project resources.
* Provide input into and/or develop relevant policies, procedures, and/or work tools to support new or updated business processes.
* Ensure seamless transition from project ideation and strategy through implementation to the business owners as needed.
* Establish best practices and tools to grow services.
Required Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent education and work experience.
* Significant project management experience.
* Proven experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets, and making data-driven analytical decisions.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prince 2 project management qualification OR Project Management Certification PMP.
* Previous experience standing up a new business or business change initiative.
* Healthcare experience.
* Experience working across multiple countries.
