The Substation Construction team is looking for a Project Engineer to own the communication coordination with our vendors, information workflow, and coordination of document management including requests for information (RFI), change orders, reports, and schedule update. Your work will help be directly responsible for supporting the fast, high-quality delivery of our HV infrastructure construction.
Key job responsibilities
•Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams. Example includes sending out region wide changes of construction processes to project stakeholders, providing location to access documents, etc.
•Develop and maintain a tracking system for construction/design changes, RFI’s (requests for information), work/change orders, build durations, critical priorities and developing dashboards to track this information for project and regional leadership review.
•Requesting and reviewing work activity MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk and developing out same with the project team.
•Onboarding new project vendors for security badging and onboarding orientation.
•Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
A day in the life
•Managing various project checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality, etc.
•Working with partner teams (Design, Energy, Procurement, Commissioning, Operations) to deliver HV infrastructure
•Communicates and coordinates with our vendors, information workflow, and coordination of document management including requests for information (RFI), change orders, reports, and schedule update
•Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
•Compiling and storing construction data from vendors.
About the team
As a Construction Project Engineer, you will be a part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon HV substations and transmission lines. You will work alongside partner teams such as Design, Energy, Procurement, Commissioning and Operations.
You will be part of the onsite Construction Management team and will own the communication coordination with our vendors, information workflow, and coordination of document management including requests for information (RFI), change orders, reports, and schedule updates. You will be on the construction site, daily interacting with construction managers and stakeholders and be directly responsible for supporting the fast, high-quality delivery of our HV infrastructure construction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•A four-year degree in a technical field such as engineering, construction management, or a trade school OR 4+ years of related construction experience in lieu of a degree.
•+2 years’ experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization with experience updating and managing construction data (including milestone dates, requests for information (RFI), design changes, and change orders) and reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
•Experience with developing workflows and tracking systems including change management, vendor equipment delivery, and document controls across 3 or more organizations/teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with project management principles and best practices, software tools such as Procore and document control, AutoCAD or similar computer aided design software.
• Experience of construction operations in HV substation environment, underground HV cable installation and commissioning.
• Experience with electrical systems including diesel generators, uninterruptible power systems, switchboards, transformers, and power distribution units. Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
