Position Title: Social Care Worker Haven House

Reporting to: Project Leader/Deputy Project Leader
The Role: To provide a service to individuals experiencing homelessness, assisting them to secure a long-term home while ensuring all supports and personal attributes required to sustain their home are in place. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of care possible and working closely with colleagues in care planning and case management.
General Responsibilities:
* Assist in the implementation of the case management system and engage in one-to-one work from referral stage to move-on, including initial assessment and identifying housing supports.
* Build professional trusting relationships with each resident, treating them with dignity and respect.
* Carry out all duties connected with the operation of a residential service, resolving conflict, and responding to health issues.
* Follow reporting policy & procedures regarding Child Protection concerns.
* Liaise with and advocate to a range of external service providers.
* Work effectively as part of a team and respond to reasonable requests from management.
* Work within the policies of Crosscare and the standard operating procedures of the project.
* Contribute to the quality agenda to ensure consistent delivery of service and quality standards.
* Perform all administrative duties relating to the role.
* Observe all Health and Safety policies and ensure the security of the building is maintained.
Qualification Required:
* Minimum BA Degree in Applied Social Care, Addiction, Mental Health, Nursing, Psychology, or equivalent Level 7 qualification.
OR
* Applicants with a minimum of 5 years employment in a directly transferable post will be considered if they have completed the DCU Homeless Intervention & Prevention or Care & Case Management Certificate course and/or a NFQ Level 6 in Addiction Studies.
Experience Required:
* A minimum of 1 year relevant employment working with a similar client group.
* Internal Candidates - A minimum of 6 months relevant employment.
* Experience in homeless services, addiction services, or community/youth work sector.
* Additional Training in:
o Addiction
o Mental Health
o TCI
o Child Care
o Special Needs
o PASS
o Counselling
o ASIST
o First Aid, CPR, AED
o Paediatric First Aid
o Parenting programmes
