Position Description

As a Programme Manager within Networks Telecoms Programme Management Office & Project Support (PMOPS), you will have responsibility for monitoring and reporting on one or several of Networks Telecoms programmes: HV, Capital Investment, Customer/Repayable and/or Maintenance Programmes. The reporting by the PMO is an essential source of information in relation to the health of the programmes; specifically, whether projects are being delivered on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Planning: Oversee and coordinate overall programme and projects, ensuring effective resource planning.
2. Programme Reporting: Monitor and report on programme status and financials.
3. Demand Management: Managing and utilising resources across projects and programmes. Manage resources and capacity, ensuring optimal workforce utilisation.
4. Programme Development: Develop and track annual work programmes, prioritising business demands.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships and improve communication channels to track project progress.
6. Board Governance: Convene boards, provide reports, and define governance controls.
Experience and Qualifications
1. Professional qualification or equivalent work experience.
2. Self-motivated with excellent planning and time management skills and strong attention to detail.
3. Proven scheduling, capacity and capability management skills.
4. Proven stakeholder management skills, including ability to work collaboratively and engage positively with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
5. Experience in risk management; the identification, assessment, mitigation, tracking, control and management of project risks.
6. A full clean EU driving license.
7. Project/programme management experience/certification. Knowledge of project management methodologies (Prince 2, Agile, PMP, other).
8. Technical knowledge of electrical and/or telecommunications networks.
9. Experience of document writing for board-level documentation.
10. *If deemed necessary, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a certificate or diploma qualification in Procurement.
Location
ESB offices, Leopardstown Road, Dublin 18.
