Our Mission
We dream big and are passionate about caring for our diverse mix of people, customers, patients, and planet.
The Role
As part of our site's electrical engineering team, you'll serve as a subject matter expert on all electrical items, ensuring that electrical standards are maintained, and systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in line with national and plant standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the development and management of our site's electrical infrastructure, making improvements to ensure it's reliable and robust for current and long-term needs.
2. Project manage electrical projects on site and act as an electrical SME for multi-disciplined projects where required.
3. Lead and/or support the design of instrument wiring, drawings, loop drawings, MCC schematics, and general service/lighting schematics, managing and reviewing outputs from consultants to maintain site standards and design philosophies.
4. Develop and update statutory periodical maintenance of all site electrical equipment, switchgear, and control gear.
5. Develop electrical PMs for areas where they don't presently exist and expand electrical PMs where they do exist.
6. Support site Electrical Maintenance (e.g. Thermographic, LV and HV Maintenance, PAT, etc.) and ensure all recommendations are closed to ensure site compliance.
7. Development and maintenance of site-wide electrical specifications and drawings to ensure they're at the most up-to-date revision for actual installations.
8. Support management of all electrical contractors on site to ensure they comply with electrical specifications and deliverables set out by the electrical engineer, i.e., adherence to site rules, procedures, and project deliverables.
9. Maintenance and upgrades of electrical facilities systems such as lighting, emergency lighting, UPS systems, small power, BMS system, Fire Alarm, door access control, CCTV, cable containment systems, earthing and lightning protection system, transformers, MV/LV panels, etc.
10. Troubleshoot electrical-related process problems & equipment failures to determine root cause and instigate repair using the latest lean tools & techniques.
11. Coordinate with quality and EHS on matters where an SME electrical input is needed.
12. Provide leadership and coaching to technicians as replacement of POs for equipment and spares is within the job role as is other administration work required to carry out your functional work.
13. Input into site Maintenance system 'SAP' to ensure recurring issues are identified and remedied.
14. Develop critical spares list for site electrical utilities and main MCC panels & ensure that critical spares are in stock or are readily available at all times, and support problem solving and continuous improvement efforts across all areas of the site.
15. Ensure project design and installations meet the requirement of EU directives such as ATEX and Machinery Directive and CE compliance.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* A minimum BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Considerable electrical engineering industry experience in an FDA or GMP environment (candidates with equivalent experience in other highly-regulated industries will be considered).
* Electrical circuit design expertise.
* HV/LV design & operational experience.
* Maintaining and management of electrical drawing records.
* Experience within an ATEX environment is advantageous.
