The Role:
You will underwrite commercial insurance products including PI, Cyber, Management liability, Property and Liability lines of business, within a highly successful and energized team. This role is key in driving profitable growth within the new business underwriting team, both in delivering personal income and broker account targets whilst also meeting agreed service standards and key performance objectives. You will have a strong focus on building rapport and relationships with and delivering a superb service to our broker partners and will actively identify opportunities to cross-sell using market leading internet technology.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Significant contribution to profitable underwriting in order to achieve the overall new business GWP target.
2. Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategy and guidelines.
3. Effectively negotiate with both internal and external parties including identified points of contact with a brokerage.
4. Build relationships with key brokers and maintain a very strong local market presence.
5. Maintain profitability of the account by making sound individual underwriting decisions.
6. Ensure underwriting file integrity by documenting file in line with U/W management requirements.
7. Support both the Head of Sales and Distribution and Underwriting Manager on understanding the Irish insurance landscape.

11. Full clean driving license.
Key Competencies:
1. Graduate (2.1 or above or equivalent) and have completed the CIP qualification.
2. Good knowledge of commercial underwriting process and product landscape is a plus.
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in a related position.
4. Good understanding of how the Irish market and the main players and segments within it operate.
5. Good knowledge of the competitor landscape and other offerings.
6. Understanding of the Hiscox differentiators in the Irish market.
