Job Summary:
Reporting to the Event Director, the Production Manager for Events is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all technical and logistical aspects of live events. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead production teams to deliver seamless and high-quality events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Production
1. Oversee the entire event production process from pre-planning to execution and post-event wrap-up.
2. Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring all elements are delivered on time and within budget.
3. Coordinate with clients, creative teams, and stakeholders to understand production requirements.
4. Source and manage suppliers, including AV, staging, lighting, sound, rigging, and other technical vendors.
5. Ensure all technical and production aspects align with creative and client expectations.
On-Site Management
1. Lead the production team during event setup, execution, and teardown.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical or logistical issues in real time.
3. Ensure health and safety regulations and risk assessments are adhered to at all times.
4. Liaise with venue staff and event partners for smooth coordination.
Budget & Resource Management
1. Prepare and manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
3. Track expenses and optimize production costs while maintaining quality.
Technical & Logistics Coordination
1. Work closely with technical teams on AV, lighting, staging, and production needs.
2. Ensure seamless integration of technical elements, rehearsals, and live event execution.
3. Arrange transportation, storage, and logistics for equipment and crew.
4. Lead and motivate production teams, including contractors, technicians, and stage crews.
5. Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
6. Manage schedules, call sheets, and ensure all team members are informed and aligned.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Production Manager in live events, concerts, corporate events, or festivals.
2. Strong knowledge of event production, AV equipment, lighting, and staging.
3. Excellent project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Strong leadership and people management abilities.
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management.
7. Budget management and cost control experience.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
9. Proficiency in event management software and production planning tools.
