Senior Ecologist
Nationwide options available, offering a hybrid model of work split into office, fieldwork, and home office arrangements.
Responsibilities:
* Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
* Provide expert ecological input for various projects.
* Plan, conduct, and supervise the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
* Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements.
* Write technical reports and other deliverables.
* Manage quality, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy, timely delivery of contracts, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team's work.
* Act as an expert witness at Oral Hearings.
* Foster excellent relationships with clients and attend meetings with client and design teams when necessary.
Requirements:
* A degree in ecology or a related subject.
* A minimum of seven years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
* Membership in CIEEM, CIWEM, or an equivalent professional body.
* Experience in the oral hearing process and as an expert witness.
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
* Excellent technical report writing skills.
* Experience in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
* A full clean driver's license.
