The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to implement a robust health and safety management system that complements our business and satisfies operational and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will promote a positive safety culture and ensure all employees and external visitors are compliant with H&S policies and practices through internal communication and training.
* Implement a robust health and safety management system

* Advise and support site management teams in developing and delivering H&S plans
* Work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries
* Undertake risk assessments and continuously review them to ensure they remain relevant to our procedures and any control measures are actioned
* Develop safe working procedures and communicate with relevant employees
* Maintain COSHH registers in accordance with legislative requirements and provide relevant information, instruction and training to employees
* Compile site audits/inspections and ensure any concerns are highlighted to management and outcomes actioned
* Implement a non-compliance register and review it with management on a frequent basis
* Investigate all accidents, near misses, non-compliance occurrences and complete future preventative actions
* Complete fire safety procedures including fire drills and fire alarm testing
* Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of HSE regulations and guidance
* Other relevant responsibilities as required
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
* This is a multi-site role with travel between sites required, so a full driving licence is essential
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience within the engineering/manufacturing sector
* Train the trainer qualification
