Position Overview:
The EMEA Regional Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the payroll team, ensuring the execution of payroll processes that deliver compliant, controlled, efficient, accurate, and timely payments. This role is a people management role managing staff responsible for multinational payrolls for approximately 1800 employees and the Board of Directors across 18 countries. The role reports to the HR Director, EMEA and will be based in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and supervise the payroll team to ensure efficient and effective payroll operations and delivery of all payrolls on time and in full.
2. Ensure compliance with current government regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes and implementing necessary adjustments.
3. Conduct audits of payroll processes and tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Develop, monitor, and communicate important payroll performance data and metrics to senior leadership.
5. Lead year-end payroll activities, including tax filings, audits, and compliance reviews.
6. Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standardized global payroll processes, policies, and controls.
7. Own payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring successful deployment and minimal disruption to payroll activities.
8. Manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and exploring opportunities for vendor consolidation or outsourcing where applicable.
9. Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies proactively, ensuring timely resolution of employee inquiries and escalations.
10. Partner with internal audit teams to conduct regular payroll audits and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
11. Execute specific Paymaster duties directly as required with specific responsibility for France.
Additional Duties:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve payroll-related issues.
2. Provide training and development opportunities for payroll staff to enhance their skills and performance.
3. Manage payroll-related projects and initiatives to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
4. May need to perform hands-on payroll activities for a small group.
5. Maintain confidential and secure handling of all payroll-related information.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar.
2. 10+ years of experience in payroll operations.
3. 5+ years in a regional payroll leadership role.
4. Experience working with global HRIS & payroll systems (e.g., Workday, Active, Safeguard, ADP).
5. Experience in managing payroll compliance for large multinational organizations.
1. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Proficient in French is a plus.
