This position is part of our expansion efforts across Manchester and Dublin, supporting our continued growth.About the role: As a Tax Manager at CBTax, you'll be at the forefront of preparing government incentive claims and drafting detailed technical reports to support R&D projects. You'll coordinate and liaise with clients, colleagues, and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines consistently met. Managing a portfolio of clients, you'll oversee project delivery to maintain smooth operations, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and provide expert advice on R&D claims. Supervising junior team members and identifying new business opportunities are key components of your role. You will also ensure a collaborative and high-performing team environment.In this role, you'll: Prepare government incentive claims and draft technical reports for R&D projects. Coordinate with clients, colleagues, and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines are met. Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing project delivery and maintaining strong relationships. Respond to HMRC queries and liaise on behalf of clients regarding R&D claims. Provide mentorship and supervision to junior team members, helping them develop professionally. Keep senior stakeholders updated on project progress, ensuring clear communication within the team. Identify and pursue new business development opportunities, contributing to company growth. Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment. We're seeking someone with experience including: ATT/CTA part qualification or qualified, ideally with experience in R&D. Strong understanding of the UK’s R&D tax credits. Ability to handle multiple live projects concurrently while managing workload effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders. Ability to coach, delegate, and support the growth of technical expertise and soft skills within the team.
