The re:Cycle Reverse Logistics Operations team offers worldwide cloud computing providers with a centralized means to disassemble, sort, function test, in-warranty return, repair, erase/wipe, and disposition server and networking assets that break or are no longer needed in the fleet. The team is seeking a detail-oriented, determined, and self-driven Data Steward to support its global operations by driving and working collaboratively across teams to maintain data consistency and accuracy, and by generating and driving data-related performance metrics in the organization’s warehouse management system. This role is critical to the re:Cycle Reverse Logistics system-management team that is responsible for maintaining application security, data, and compliance, and plays a key role in enabling global operations with reliable information needed to align on daily, monthly, and annual plans, and tracking operational performance to plan.
Key job responsibilities
1. Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of system data, both within and outside of the application
2. Developing and enforcing data standards, policies, procedures, and governance strategies to maintain global data integrity and compliance
3. Performing regular data quality assessments, developing and implementing scorecards and improvement plans to address identified issues
4. Working closely with stakeholders across the organization and service providers to understand data requirements and provide support
5. Utilizing SQL to query, extract, and analyze data to support business needs
6. Generating and presenting data performance metrics and reports/visuals to leadership to drive data consistency and accuracy
7. Providing training and support to team members on data-related topics and best practices
8. Managing ticket queue, prioritization, and tradeoffs for strategic system developments
9. Facilitating migration of legacy data into new systems and reporting architecture as needed
10. Testing new data in development to ensure a successful implementation into production environments
11. Engaging with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements for new reporting in development
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 3+ years of data management, data engineering, or related experience in a warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing, or reverse logistics environment
2. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related, or 4+ additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree
3. 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
2. Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines using AWS cloud tools
3. Experience using data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksite, etc.) in developing insightful dashboards to share data with a variety of stakeholders
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for details
5. Proven track record for improving metrics and performance to SLA
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms
7. Experience managing a 3rd party vendor
