We’re looking for a safety-driven and solution-oriented Chemical Engineer who thrives on challenges and is excited to shape the future of advanced materials. In this role, safety is your top priority as you lead the development of new processes and products from inception to final production. The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for all chemical handling and processes onsite. You will work closely with the Production, HSE, and Engineering teams to develop new HF Leaching standard working procedures and safety requirements. What You'll Do (full job spec on request)
* Lead with Safety: Make safety your top priority in every task, setting the standard for others to follow.
* Drive Innovation: Project manage the development of new processes and products from development through to final production, including handover to operations.
* Lead Strategic Projects: Own and execute key transformation initiatives to deliver operational excellence, including capital expenditure planning and investment strategy.
* Experiment & Optimize: Prepare raw materials, run trials, and analyse results to develop high-yield, efficient, and robust processes.
* Solve Complex Problems: Use root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools to eliminate inefficiencies and quality issues.
* Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Communicate and coordinate effectively with Product Management, Sales, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
* Document & Transfer Knowledge: Create thorough documentation including BOMs, process routings, quality criteria, risk assessments, and training materials.
* Continuously Improve: Champion continuous improvement and lean principles in everything you do.
What You Bring
* Degree (NFQ Level 8 or higher) in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
* 5–10 years of hands-on experience in chemical safety, processing, or manufacturing environments.
* Proven experience driving high-impact projects and leading cross-functional initiatives.
* Sharp analytical mind with a strong track record in solving technical challenges.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage teams and stakeholders effectively.
* Deep understanding of HSE principles and a relentless commitment to safety.
* Experience with Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or Green Belt certification is a strong plus.
