Job Description – Dental Nurse
Dental Care Ireland has an excellent opportunity for a Dental Nurse to join our busy, well-established practice in Virginia, Co Cavan.
* This is a permanent part-time role, 24 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday.
* 1 year of Dental Nursing experience and a recognised Dental Nursing qualification are essential.

Reporting to: Practice Manager
Summary of Role
The Dental Nurse is responsible for providing excellence in service through the efficient management of patients. The Dental Nurse will work closely with the Dental Team, take instruction from the Dentist and Practice Manager, and be responsible for clinical policies and procedures as set out by Dental Care Ireland and regulatory bodies, including the Dental Council of Ireland.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Provide chairside assistance to ensure the professional, accurate, and timely completion of treatments and relevant records for patient care.
* Complete clinical tests and audits as required on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
* Ensure compliance with the scope of practice as set out by the Dental Council of Ireland.
* Maintain cleanliness and sterility of clinical areas, equipment, and instruments according to health and safety policy and infection control guidelines.
* Maintain adequate stock levels and inform staff when stock levels diminish.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Notify the Dental Surgeon of any incidents relating to patient safety and ensure they are recorded.
* Liaise with the Reception Team for smooth patient communication and record transfer.
* Assist in training new clinical support team members as required.
* Help resolve patient complaints in line with company guidelines.
* Assist the Practice Manager in achieving agreed company KPIs.
* Report local facilities issues to the Practice Manager.
* Assist with reception duties when required.
Essential
* 1 year Dental Nursing experience.
* A recognised Dental Nursing qualification.
* Authorised to work in Ireland.
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* Fluent in written and oral English.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, Internet, and mail).
Capabilities
* Understanding of basic dental terminology and ability to chart dental records.
* Knowledge of basic dental materials and their use in specific areas of dentistry.
* Knowledge of relevant dental instruments as covered in the Dental Nursing curriculum.
* Understanding and implementation of sterile environment and techniques.
* Competent chairside assistance skills.
