Accounting Officer – Galway – Onsite

Responsibilities:
* Uphold the principles of integrity, intelligence, energy and confidentiality in all aspects of work to contribute to a positive and dynamic organisational culture.
* Collect, input, and track all inward payments.
* Manage aged debtor reports, discounts, refunds, balances, statements, and ensure accurate recording in CRM and accounting systems.
* Perform regular bank balancing and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
* Handle all supplier invoices, rents, contracts, credit cards, and PRSA submissions.
* Upload relevant data to the CRM, accounting software, and on secure hard drives as per protocols.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting information, journal and ledger entries for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
* Conduct thorough analyses of income, costs, cash flow, budgets, and forecast data to meet professional standards.
* Respond to work demands with flexibility and deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
* Suggest and implement approved changes for process improvement.
* Analyse and interpret various types of financial data to support informed decision-making.
* Assist with requests on business performance evaluation.
* Continually assess and refine planning, budgeting, and sustainable targets and assumptions.
* Approach the accounting function as a strategic driver for the company's direction and profitability.
* Provide insights and recommendations that support sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
* Part-qualified or accounting technician qualification or other similar or related experience in a comparable role.
* Advanced proficiency with Sage or similar accounting software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive financial reports.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, critical thinking abilities, and a capacity for quick learning and an openness to change.
* Exceptional teamwork skills, with a collaborative and engaging approach to working with others.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate across teams.
* Knowledge of business operations, including key services, competitive dynamics, and customer behaviours.

* Proven competence in analysing and interpreting diverse financial data.
* Fluency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing in English.
