This is a crucial position within the company and encompasses overall responsibility for the safe and profitable operation of the Branch in accordance with its annual targets.
Development, support and motivating a team of people to help in exceeding customer expectations.
Commercial focus on balancing key accounts and the ongoing development of new business opportunities.
Key skills, duties and responsibilities
1. Manage Health, Safety, and Environmental & Quality compliance within depots in relation to storage, vehicles, teams and systems of work.
2. Delivery of Branch annual profit and loss budget and ensuring the hire fleet utilization is maximised.
3. Actively looking for and securing new business in collaboration with the Business Development and Sales Hire teams. Liaison with new and key customers to develop their accounts.
4. Delivery of excellent Customer service for all customers through the sales hire desk and wider team.
5. Overseeing the maintenance and day to day running of the depot. Team resourcing, management, coaching and development.
6. Liaising effectively with the Company management teams on matters relating to the workshop and transport logistics. Liaising with finance team to review any accounts issues and resolve queries.
7. Ensure all management information systems are accurate and up to date.
8. Communication with internal and external stakeholders inclusive of challenging stakeholders to ensure best and right outcomes for DHS.
Qualifications & Experience
* Significant experience in a plant hire &/or operational environment in the construction sector.
* Significant and demonstrable knowledge of the Plant & Hire industry.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrable knowledge of managing asset and stock counts.
* Demonstrable awareness of main contractors and local activity.
* Demonstrable experience working within Depot Management / Controls is essential.
* Demonstrable experience of managing a team.
* Demonstrable experience of managing budgets.
* Significant commercial awareness and understanding.
* Demonstrable experience of managing external stakeholders and customers.
* Full ROI Driving license.
