Our New Manufacturing Facility in Kilkenny
In 2024, our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny will open, reflecting the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. This state-of-the-art facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3 system.
Your Role as an Operational Excellence Manager
As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will lead the Business Excellence and Business Intelligence team, developing and implementing Business Excellence and Business Intelligence principles and practices across the site. Your key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for Business Excellence and Business Intelligence aligned with divisional and site goals and objectives.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a multi-year roadmap and implementation plan to drive business excellence effectiveness across the organisation.
* Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to build awareness, understanding, and support for change initiatives.
Business Excellence and Business Intelligence
* Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of both the Business Excellence and Business Intelligence program.
* Develop and deploy standardised methodologies, tools, and frameworks for process improvement, such as Shingo, Lean Six Sigma, Factory 4.0, and Lean Manufacturing.
* Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of operational excellence initiatives.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement and involvement in process improvement initiatives.
Leadership Capability
* Set the tone for the team and create a positive and productive work environment.
* Motivate and inspire team members, fostering a sense of collaboration and accountability.
* Transform a group of individuals into a cohesive and high-performing team where each member feels valued and supported.
* Identify and leverage team members' strengths and suggest scope for improvement.
* Adapt to changing situations and make strategic decisions to ensure the team's success.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in engineering, science, operations management, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role/environment.
* Champion engaged high-performing teams through the Mindful Leader principles where respectful challenge is embraced in pursuit of collaborative outcomes.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing business excellence initiatives.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
