About the Role
Reporting to the Housing Manager, you will be responsible for managing a patch of properties, ensuring the best use of housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
* Allocating properties in accordance with the Housing Selection Scheme and allocation policies
* Conducting accompanied property viewings as part of the allocations process
* Advising new tenants of the conditions of tenancy and assisting with the completion of housing benefit/UC rent arrears documents
* Maintaining an effective filing and computerised diary system in respect of housing management issues
* Updating tenant information, support plans, household mix, arrears activity and other relevant data
* Providing a support service for any problems that may arise and finding a suitable resolution
* Targeted signposting and support to customers in relation to welfare benefits, budgeting, money management, fuel poverty and consumer anti-social behaviour issues
* Collaborating with the maintenance team to manage stock appropriately
Requirements
* A minimum of 1-year experience within the last 5 years in a similar role
* A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of a housing officer and the Housing Selection Scheme
* Knowledge of managing Anti-Social Behaviour and void management
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook
